En l’an 9 du règne de Shabour roi de Perse, alors que déjà l’Évangile du Christ s’était répandu partout et qu’il accomplissait les forces des signes avec les miracles apostoliques dans les prêtres et les administrateurs de l’Église, il y avait en ce temps-là un pasteur actif et zélé, qui administrait l’Église du Christ sans dommage au pays de Ladab, Mâr ‘Abdâ, septième évêque depuis les Apôtres sur la chaire sainte de Herbat Glal. 1

Quant aux guérisons en tous genres de maladies graves et aux secours abondants qui proviennent du lieu saint où les saints martyrs sont inhumés; ces faits prêchent plus que des paroles. Voilà brièvement l’histoire des exploits des athlètes vaillants, les martyrs du Christ… Ces sains douze martyrs ont été couronnés au mois de Kanôn II. Que leur prière… Amen. 1
