                    Le dimanche 25 Adar à neuf heures — certains disent le premier jour du mois de Nîsan — l’an 304 d’Alexandre fils de Philippe, alors qu’Élisabeth était enceinte de six mois, l’archange Gabriel apparut à Marie.
                
                
                    ܘܟܕ ܐܫܩܝܘ ܠܡܪܝܡ ܘܠܝܘܣܦ ܡܢ ܡ̈ܝܐ ܕܒܘܚܪܢܐ ܘܠܐ ܐܬܢܟܝܘ. ܦܩܕ ܪܫ ܟܗ̈ܢܐ ܠܝܘܣܦ ܕܢܢܛܪܝܗܿ ܒܙܗܝܪܘܬܐ. ܥܕܡܐ ܕܢܚܙܘܢ ܚܪܬܗ ܕܣܘܥܪܢܐ.
                
                
                    Et quand ils eurent donné à boire à Marie et à Joseph de l’eau de probation et qu’ils n’en eurent pas subi de dommage, le chef des prêtres ordonna a Joseph de la garder avec soin jusqu’à ce qu’ils voient la fin de l’affaire.
