“ܒܪܕܘܦܝܐ ܩܕܡܝܐ ܕܗܘܐ ܒܐܬܪܐ ܕܦܪ̈ܣܝܐ ܡܛܘܠ ܝܘܠܦܢܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ. ܒܝܘ̈ܡܝ ܘܪܬܪܢ ܐܒܐ ܕܐܒܘܗܝ ܕܫܒܘܪ ܡܠܟ ܡ̈ܠܟܐ ܕܦܪܣ. ܛܘܒܢܝܬܐ ܕܝܢ ܩܢܕܝܕܐ ܕܟܠܝܠܗ̇ ܒܝܕ ܣܝܦܐ ܩܒܠܬ ܘܠܒܝܬ ܡܠܐ̈ܟܐ ܐܬܥܠܝܬ. ܗܝ ܗܕܐ ܓܝܪ ܫܪܝܪܐܝܬ ܥܠ ܒܗܬܬܐ ܐܡܣܪܬ ܒܚܘܒܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܢܨܪܝܐ.”

“Pendant la première persécution qui eut lieu au pays des Perses pour la doctrine de Jésus-Christ, aux jours de Wartaran, père du père de Shabour roi des rois de Perse, la bienheureuse Candida, qui reçu la couronne par l’épée et fut élevée dans la maison des anges, méprisa vraiment la honte par l’amour de Jésus-Christ de Nazareth.”
