“ܚܒܝܒܝ ܒܗܘ ܙܒܢܐ ܟܕ ܐܬܟܢܫܘ ܫܠܝ̈ܚܐ ܩܕܝܫ̈ܐ ܘܦܠܓܘ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܐܬܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܥܠܝܗܘܢ. ܘܟܕ ܫܕܘܗܝ ܠܦܣܐ ܣܠܩܬ ܠܦܛܪܘܣ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܠܪܗܘܡܐ ܪܒܬܐ. ܐܡܝܢܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܬܪ̈ܝܢ ܡܥܕܪ̈ܢܐ ܡܢ ܬܠܡ̈ܝܕܐ ܒܡܕܝܢܬܐ. ܛܝܛܘܣ ܘܠܘܩܐ.”1 “Mes bien-aimés, au temps où les saints apôtres se rassemblèrent et se partagèrent tous les pays, et quand ils eurent jeté le sort, il échut à Pierre d’aller à Rome la grande et deux des disciples, Tite et Luc restèrent ses aides dans la ville.”1

“ܐܫܬܡܠܝܬ ܕܝܢ ܣܗܕܘܬܗ ܕܩܕܝܫܐ ܠܘܩܐ ܐܘܢܓܠܝܣܛܐ ܘܫܠܝܚܐ ܕܡܫܝܚܐ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܪܢ. ܩܕܡ ܩܠܢܕܘܢ ܕܒܪܝܘܣ ܐܪܒܥܣܪ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܪ̈ܗܘܡܝܐ. ܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܡܨܪ̈ܝܐ ܒܥܣܪܝܢ ܘܬܪܝܢ ܒܒܐܘܒܝ ܡܬܟܢܢ ܬܘܒ ܒܝܪܚܐ ܕܣܘܪ̈ܝܝܐ ܒܬܫܬܥܣܪ ܒܬܫܪܝܢ ܩܕܝܡ ܒܡܠܟܘܬܗ ܕܢܐܪܘܢ. ܡܠܟܐ ܕܝܢ ܕܝܠܢ ܐܝܬܘܗܝ ܡܪܝ ܝܫܘܥ ܡܫܝܚܐ ܒܟܠܙܒܢ ܕܠܗ... ܐܡܝܢ.”1 “Le martyre de saint Luc, évangéliste et apôtre du Christ Jésus notre Seigneur fut accompli le 14 avant les calendes de décembre mois des Romains, le 22 de Paophi mois des Égyptiens, le 19 de Teshrî I mois des Syriens, pendant le règne de Néron, notre roi étant mon Seigneur Jésus-Christ en tout temps; à lui… Amen.”1
