ܡܘܫܐ ܡܢ ܗܿܘ ܐܠܗܝܐ. ܟܕ ܥܬܝܕ ܗܘܐ ܕܢܬܩܪܒ ܠܘܬ ܗܿܝ ܕܢܚܙܐ ܠܣܢܝܐ ܒܪܬ ܩܠܐ ܐܠܗܝܬܐ ܐܬܬ ܠܗ̣. ܟܕ ܡܚܦܛܐ ܠܗ. ܠܘܬ ܗܿܝ ܕܢܫܩܘܠ ܠܣܐܘܢܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܡܢ ܪ̈ܓܠܘܗܝ ܐܬܐܡܪ ܠܗ. ܡܛܠ ܕܐܬܪܐ ܕܒܗ ܩܐܡ ܐܢܬ ܩܕܝܫ ܗܘ. 1
Alors que Moïse le divin s’approchait pour voir le buisson, une voix divine vint à lui en l’exhortant à enlever la chaussure de ses pieds; il lui fut dit: «Parce que la terre où tu te tiens es sainte». 1

Voici le début de cette histoire qui nous est parvenue. Ce saint Mâr Samuel était du pays de Sourâ, d’un village appelé Ashtîn dans les environs de Mardîn. 1

Et ils prièrent pendant sept jours et sept nuits en veillant, en pleurant et en se lamentant sur le départ de l’athlète spirituel qui a reçu la couronne de la victoire de la main de la justice; qu’à ses prières… Amen. 1
