  • بظاهر ديار بكر دير عظيم مشهور نشأ منه اياونيس الاول 755+ واربعة عشر اسقفاً3
  • outside Diyarbakir, is a famous, great monastery. Patriarch John I (d. 775) and fourteen bishops graduated from it.4

Corrigenda

In Dolabani's translation of Barsoum's description ܘܐܰܪܒܰܥܣܰܪ should read ܘܰܐܪܒܰܥܣܰܪ.
In Barsoum's description اياونيس should read ايوانيس.
In Moosa's English translation of Barsoum's description, "775" should be "755."
