Zhenjiang - [ Syriac Not Available ]
http://syriaca.org/place/2537
A major river port city on the lower Yangtze, at the junction with the Grand Canal, in modern Jiangsu province. It functioned as a key commercial and transport hub where inland and north–south trade networks converged, making it an important node in late imperial economic geography. In the context of Syriac Christianity, the Zhishun Zhenjiangzhi local gazetteer records the presence of Christian communities in and around the city, with references such as the Xingguo Monastery indicating an established Jingjiao presence integrated into the region’s commercial and social landscape.5
