Patr. of Antioch , ordained on 17 Aug. 793 in Ḥarran , died in June or August 817 in Mosul (the sources are not unanimous); he came from Tagrit ; before becoming Patr. he had been a monk in the Monastery of Esṭona near Kallinikos .
In hagiography: Cyriacus was commemorated an elderly monk of the Monastery of Esṭona , called the monastery of the column or pillar, on the left bank of the Euphrates . He became Patriarch of the Syrian Orthodox Church and held at least five synods to address internal conflicts.
