Luisier's article "Il miafisismo, un termine discutabile della storiografia recente", in «Cristianesimo nella Storia», 34 (2013), 299-310. Although Luisier's arguments against the use of the term 'miafisismo' may be formally correct, it is argued here that, from a practical and ecumenical point of view, the terms 'miaphysite', 'miaphysism' have an important function in helping to distinguish between two very different christological positions and thus to avoid serious misunderstandings about the christological teaching of the Oriental Orthodox Churches.
