Further research (by Khalifè-Hachem, Beulay and especially Brock) proved a greater coherence in Isaac's thought and also in his being deep-rooted in the Syrian monastic tradition, in particular the one dose to John of Apamea (first half of the V century). Brock eventually underlined Isaac's debt to the Eastern Church's liturgy and exegesis. The present paper focuses on this very last aspect. Based on a particular subject, that of the angel - of his creation, knowledge, freedom and fall - it analyses Isaac's contacts with the schools' traditions, the preaching and the monastic circles of his own church. It is thus easier to show how original and precious is his proposal of the creature's spiritual and eschatological conduct, beyond any impulse, volition and, therefore, prayer.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
