Add. 14538, British Museum). Since 1909 the same reading has been assumed for the other manuscript (Codex Harris [H], Cod. Syr. 9, John Rylands Library). However, it has been overlooked that this particular manuscript also reveals a slight correction, turning the meaning of this verse upside down. Moreover, this <i>varia lectio</i> probably reflects the original Greek reading and gives this verse a christological perspective: “The Spirit of the Lord rested on/upon me” (cf. Isaiah 11:2 and 61:1).
