Particular attention was given to duplicate passages (those appearing in both 2 Samuel and 1 Chronicles) in order to discover if traces of influence from the Peshitta text of 1 Chronicles can be detected in the Peshitta text of 2 Samuel. Nineteen shared readings were identified. In general, Peshitta 2 Samuel and Peshitta 1 Chronicles manifest a high degree of independence from each other. The small number of significant agreements suggest that the texts influenced each other during the period of their transmission.
