This seems a good reason to investigate more closely the synodal practice of his own community, the Chaldean Church. In order to understand the Chaldeans, it is of course necessary to first investigate the idea of synodality in the Church of the East, the Mother Church of the Chaldeans. Synodality is not a clearly defined concept; on the one hand, it suggests an involvement of the entire community in the decision-making process, on the other it is related to the position of the Bishops vis-à-vis the Patriarch or the Roman Pontiff. Both aspects will be discussed in this article.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
