The present study contributes to current research on the functions of the enclitic pronoun by comparing and contrasting its use when attached to the interrogatives mānā ‘what/how/why?’ and man ‘who?’ in the Syriac New Testament Peshitta of the Gospels. The results of this study demonstrate that the enclitic pronoun in the expression mānā + enclitic functions differently from its counterpart in man + enclitic.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
