In fact, quite a number of Theodorian passages in Procopius can be identified from the direct witnesses we have of his Genesis commentary alone. The crucial question is, however, whether the numerous agreements between Procopius and the later East-Syrian Genesis commentaries (esp. Ishoʿdad of Merv and the Anonymus Diyarbakir) are in themselves sufficient to establish Theodore’s commentary as the common source. Discussing several examples, the author confirms this hypothesis with certain reservations concerning the possible amalgamation of different “Antiochene” commentators (Eusebius of Emesa, Diodore of Tarsus), especially by Procopius.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
