We will try to identify this character with Abū ‘Amr al-Ṭabarī through the drawing of a parallel between the texts and the data provided by bio-bibliographers like Ibn al-Nadīm in particular. We will show that previous identifications, as did the mourned H. Gätje for instance, were erroneous and that the discovery of this mistake puts us in front of two distinct authors. Finally, the rare texts which stage this character are presented in the appendix.
