Both interpreters belong to the Antiochian theological and exegetical tradition. However, in their exegetical works, two opposing approaches to the interpretation of the biblical text are evident. The first relies on personal experience, while the second bases his personal experience on the testimony of the church tradition. The experience of Theodore of Mopsuestia leads to the destruction of the traditional view of the Church on the composition and content of the Bible. Theodore of Cyrus answers the objections of Theodore and proves correctness of the experience of the Church.
