This article examines the discourse on man in the commentary on what was created on the sixth day. It intends to highlight the structure of Bar Hebræus’s presentation of man and how this structure fits into the hexaemeron and more broadly into the <i>Candelabra of the Sanctuaries</i>. In addition, it discusses how Bar Hebræus compiled many elements from secular sources to insert them into a theological work and the relationship he established between these data and the framework of the Revelation.
