Sulaka met with Pope Julius III and returned to Diyarbakır with the support of the Roman Catholic Church; as a result, a new church was founded. The new Christian community was called “Chaldean” by the pope himself, in order to show that they were different from the Nestorians. But before the century passed, the patriarchate on the Sulaka line returned to the old traditions of Nestorian. After the interruption of this tradition In 1681, under the leadership of Yusuf I, the Chaldean Church was once again established in Diyarbakir. As can be seen from both examples, the city of Diyarbakir became an important center for the Chaldeans and continued until 1830.
In this study, the outline of the Chaldean Church in the ancient city of Diyarbakir, which has hosted many faiths and ethnicities, will be examined.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
