Btirsa dates to the early Byzantine era (4th – 6th century CE) when dozens of houses were abandoned: about 50% remain with various levels of preservation. It is an archaeological site that has not been globally studied, especially concerning residential buildings and its conservation. This study documents the architectural preservation and components of residential buildings, such as porticos; external entrances; interior façades (walls, lintels, niches, decorations); and courtyard walls. It also presents a new analytical study of external façades compared against the wider region, identifying elements with a new classification. The comparison between the components of houses in Btirsa and those in other villages show similarities and differences between them, identifying potential unique features. This study may allow a future study to understand their function more deeply.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
