While the debates, convergences, and interpenetrations between history and memory, as well as the impact of literature on the study of history and memory, form the theoretical background of this study. It is also important to understand how Kurdish literary narratives ground history and memory. Literature plays an imp ortant role in the historical narratives that Kurds, who do not have a state and an official historical thesis, wish to create, especially after the post 2000 period. From this perspective, this study first focuses on the interplay of history, memory, and literature, and then examines the role of historiography and collective memory in Kurdish novels and short stories, as well as how these literary texts tell the story of the Assyrian communities, who lived alongside the Kurds during the historical catastrophe of the 1915 genocide.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
