It begins with anintroduction containing the necessary information on the life and work of Evagrius, followedby a presentation of these two works in the original Greek. The first part is then devoted to a study of the first Latin version Sr and to brief analyses of the later reception (John Cassian, the second translation Sh and the reception by Benedict of Aniane). The second part of the thesis deals with the two Syriac versions, S1 and S2, within the framework of a philological study (editiones principes) and an analysis of the translation; it is followed by a more detailed studyof certain manuscripts and quotations in the Syro-Oriental mystical authors. The final chapterlooks at the similarities and differences between the two traditions. The texts (Greek, Latin and Syriac) are presented at the end with their French translation.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
