The findings demonstrate that the major events of his life—nativity, public ministry, passion, death, resurrection, and ascension—can be "read" in the different parts of the liturgy. Certainly, the Eucharist does not aim to narrate the life of Jesus but to re-present (i.e., make present once more) and renew the sacrifice of the cross. Nonetheless, reading the story of Jesus through the Mass can help the faithful to focus on the liturgy while participating in it. In general, what applies to the Maronite Mass applies to every other Catholic rite.
