A contemporary of Patriarch Michael the Great , whose chronicle is our first-hand source of information about him, who describes him with reverence as a venerable monk and later consecrates him bishop, Abū Ghālib remains a valuable spiritual author, still to be discovered and assessed in the important and rich contribution he brought to the Syriac literature of the XIIth century.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
