The manuscripts copied in ‘Abdíshô‘’s hand were used by later copyists, who did not fail to acknowledge the fact. Thanks to these scribal notes, we can attempt to gather the information about the manuscripts copied by ‘Abdíshô‘. The present contribution examines the extant evidence for eight such manuscripts. A study of the circumstances in which the copies from the autographs were made allows for the proposal that the city of Gâzartâ played a central role in the dissemination of ‘Abdíshô‘’s oeuvre, beginning as early as 1315. None of ‘Abdíshô‘’s autographs is extant, except for one that is introduced for the first time here. The later history of this manuscript connects it with the turbulent history of the Church of the East during the 14th century and, somewhat unexpectedly, with the history of monumental Estrangêlâ in the 17th-20th centuries in connection with two prolific scribes, Gíwârgís of Alqôš and Abrâhâm Šekwânâ. The uncommon hitherto verse colophon of the manuscript also sheds light on the formation of East Syriac ‘scribal’ poetry in the 16th century. Furthermore, a suggestion is ventured with regard to the origin of ‘Abdíshô‘ and his personal library.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
