This Legend belongs to the genre of didactic fables and presents all the characteristic features of this genre: the presence of entertaining elements and wonders in an everyday context, and a moralizing purpose. In this Legend, the author makes a reflection on the possibility of the salvation of demons and the incommensurability of divine mercy. In doing so, he proposes to the audience a model of repentance based on the centrality of monastic piety and liturgy for Christian Life.
