It compares its structure, which was preserved in its original form by the Assyrian Church of the East and the structure in the liturgical texts of the Chaldean and Syrian-Malabar Catholic Churches. What sets them apart is the absence of a narrative institution of the Eucharist in the original text. The absence of a narrative institution is replaced by the so-called quasi-narrative resp. anamnesis and epiclesis, which refer to the events of the institution of the Eucharist during the Last Supper. The absence of the narrative institution is not a deficiency, but rather a language and a symbol by which the whole anaphora must be read as one integral and complex consecration prayer not ad litteram, but as a lex orandi of the believing community. Possible reasons for omitting the narration and the words of the institution of the Eucharist are given toward the end of this essay.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
