Based on a re-examination of the original text, this article shows that the Turfan fragments have parallels in Galen’s <i>De compositione medicamentorum secundum locos</i> and contain elements of Hippocratic recipes as well. This adds further evidence that Syriac Christians had brought Hellenistic medical lore to Turfan at an early date.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
