On the one hand in HHaer 30 there is a reference to the well-known Isaiah's view as to a controversy with Marcion in order to explain God's image as it appears in the biblical revelation; on the other hand in HFid, which are addressed to those communities shaken by the Arian crisis, Ephraem holds up the Seraphim's attitude of praise and their silence as a model for seeking God and his unfathomable mystery. Therefore Ephraem, through these texts, as well as through other ones from his complex corpus of works, draws important conclusions from Is 6 at a Christological, soteriological but also eschatological level. As a matter of fact Ephraem thinks that in Is 6,3 the 'saint' corresponds to that same praise addressed to the 'Divinity' in Heaven. This association between Isaiah's 6 liturgy and the forthcoming judgement can already be seen in Afraate.
