In his biography found in MS Cambridge, University Library, DD.3.8 (1)), there is a list of books that Bar Shay Allah brought from Egypt to his homeland, the region of Tur Abdin (today’s south-eastern Turkey). This article attempts to reconstruct the vicissitudes of this library and to trace at least some books still existing in libraries, like the Medicea Laurenziana Library in Florence.
