A girls’ school had been established there in 1838, but following its founder’s death it required new leadership. Under Fiske the number of students increased, and the school became a center for educating and evangelizing Nestorian girls and young women. This article considers Fiske’s contribution to expanding and stabilizing the school.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
