The Bible is in this text a doctrinal reference and the Old and New Testaments are carefully distinguished each other. The vocabulary designating the Holy Scripture is exact. The Law and the Prophets form the basis of the authenticity of Christian preaching. The Biblical quotations are taken from the Peshitta and the evangelical ones are taken from the Diatessaron, some of which follow the Vetus Syra. In the church practice established by the apostle Addai, a scriptural canon is clearly given, which, for the Old Testament, includes the Torah, the Prophets and Psalms, and for the New Testament, the Diatessaron, the Pauline corpus and the Acts of the Apostles (Acts + James + 1 Peter + 1 John), which is a stage in the formation of the Peshitta for the final assemblage of which the separate Gospels will replace the <i>Diatessaron</i>.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
