Art historians claimed its miniatures are copies of ancient archetypes. The miniatures are here newly discussed by Hayarpi Hakobian. As for the text, Angelo Maria Piemontese convincingly argues against the possibility that <i>Or</i>. 81 might be a later edition of an ancient Syriac prototype.
