The old excavations, led by A. Zaqzouq, uncovered two buildings, including a basilica with sidewalks and narthex, and its annex rooms dated by inscriptions from between 412 and 416. The floor of this religious complex is paved with mosaics with geometric patterns, except one with a figured scene. Above, a second building was paved with slabs. It dates back to the Middle Ages, and may have been a church according to M. Piccirillo. The recent excavations by the DGAMS aimed at clearing the area and identify the limits of the building. They uncovered several architectural pieces and new mosaics in the central nave and in the annex rooms. These mosaics bear various, fine geometric patterns, some of them unique in the region, as well as biblical quotes in Greek. These recent discoveries confirm the special status of this religious complex, especially in the Paleochristian period, and give a rare testimony on the Byzantine bishopric of Epiphania of Apamene.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
