It is argued that the text was originally written in Greek and that some of its clauses closely resemble Theodoret’s Letter 151 and the (Eastern) Formula of the Council of Ephesus of 431. While the identity of the author remains unknown, there are reasons to believe that the text was composed in the years 431−433. An improved edition of the Greek and Latin versions of this text, accompanied by a German translation, is also given.
