In 1979 Albrecht Dihle has depicted Bardesanes as an ingenious christian philosopher. The sources of his theory of free will are the middle-platonic and peripatetic philosophy, mainly Alexander of Aphrodisias and his dialog De fato.
This new german translation of the Book of the Laws of the Countries gives an introduction into the Bardesanes research.
