To the First Collection, widely appreciated and translated in numerous languages from the 9th century on, have been added two other collections recently discovered: the Second and the Third. The last one, contained in a unique and recent manuscript preserved in Teheran (Issayi 5), has just been published and translated; it is briefly presented here. The 14 homilies that compose this manuscript contain themes typical of Isaac on the relations between ascetical practices and contemplation, prayer, divine mercy and the mildness of judgment. Two homilies consist entirely of prayers and two others are letters addressed to hermits facing difficulties, on the reasons for solitary life and on joy.» (p. 304)</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
