Due to a shift in linguistic ecology, Syrian Ṭuroyo exhibits extensive borrowing and replication from Arabic and a marginalisation of the Kurdish component. From a dialect contact perspective, Syrian Ṭuroyo shows a series of phenomena commonly observed in koineisation processes such as simplification and levelling. The data on which the paper draws were collected both in situ and in diaspora.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
