The text of the manuscript is written in Syriac script in one of the ancient Turkic dialects, close to the Old Uighur language and dating back to the 13th — 14th centuries. This is the so-called 3rd Syro-Turkic fragment, which was written in the Syriac alphabet among the Turks who adopted Christianity from the Nestorian Syrians in the area of Lake Issyk-Kul (present-day Kyrgyzstan). The text of the manuscript remained unnoticed by turkologists for a long time, and it was not transcribed and translated from Turkic into Russian. This article proposes a transcription of the text of the MS in accordance with norms of Turkic grammar and phonetics and gives a translation of this fragment, using other Christian texts in the Turkic languages written in 8th — 14th centuries. In particular, the article pays attention to the word <i>bitig </i>and providing its more precise equivalent based on sources of the Karachay-Balkarian and Old Uighur languages. The article also clarifies the meanings of other words and restores some parts of the text. The analysis of the Syro-Turkic fragment allows one to conclude that it is a part of a Christian Syriac book written in a Turkic language.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
