In the middle of the Fifteenth century the liturgy of the Presanctified was still in use among the Maronites of the Lebanon on the ferias of Lent, though now it is restricted to Good Friday. The Jacobite rite is to be found in a considerable number of MSS in the British Museum and elsewhere. This paper contains the text of a Presanctified Anaphora. The MS. having been written in the year 1546 of the Greeks (a.d. 1235). ~ "Of this work, chapter iv § 8, dealing with the liturgy of the Presanctified [...]. The original part of section 8, according to the plan pursued throughout by the author, consists of comments on selections from ecclesiastical writers, of which the most important as regards the history of the rite is that purpotinf to be the work of Severus of Antioch."
