As a rule, this word is used in the commentary to refer to the life of Jesus and his teachings, sometimes representing the book of the Gospel. The second part of the article deals with the Syrian word ܣܒܪܬܐ <i>sḇartā </i>that is the Syriac equivalent of the Greek word ܐܘܢܓܠܝܘܢ <i>ˀēwangēlīōn</i>. The study observes that the lexeme ܣܒܪܬܐ <i>sḇartā </i>has the meaning of good news in a general sense in the Old Testament but acquires a sacred meaning in the New Testament, where it is inextricably linked with the Gospel of Jesus that is with his life and teaching.
