A separate place is given to the question of the connection between the penetration of Christianity into this region with the apostolic mission of the first disciples of Christ, the apostles Thomas and St. Andrew the First-Called. The paper also considers the inadequately studied issue of the existence of the Orthodox community headed by the Catholicos in Shash/Chach (the current territory of the Tashkent region) in the VIII–XIII centuries.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
