The whole scheme of three consecutive stages in the development of the mainstream of the transmission of the Peshitta text could be moved one century backwards without running the risk of being unsettled. As this scheme is concerned first and foremost with types of text, there is no need to suggest direct (linear) dependence between all manuscripts involved.</note></biblStruct><bibl type="formatted" subtype="bibliography" resp="https://www.zotero.org/styles/chicago-note-bibliography-17th-edition">
