“ܥܠ ܚܝܠܗ ܕܝܫܘܥ ܡܪܝܐ. ܡܫܪܐ ܥܒܕܐ ܚܛܝܐ: ܠܡܟܬܒ ܡܐܡܪܘܢܐ ܦܐܝܐ. ܕܡܬܩܪܐ ܒܠܥܙܐ ܢܪܣܝܐ. ܕܡܬܐܡܪ ܒܕܘܟܪܢ ܓܒܝܐ. ܘܛܒܝܒ ܒܚܝܠܐ ܘܥܢܘܝܐ: ܘܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܟܐܢܐ ܘܙܗܝܐ. ܪܒܢ ܗܘܪܡܝܙܕ ܦܪܣܝܐ... ܫܘܿܐ ܠܫܘܒܚܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܒܪ̈ܝܢ ܐܝܬܝܐ ܟܣܝܐ: ܟܝܢܐ ܣܓܝܕܐ ܓܢܝܙ ܡܢ ܟܠܐ ܕܠܐ ܫܘܪܝܐ.” 1
“Avec la force du Seigneur Jésus, le serviteur pécheur commence à écrire le beau petit discours lu dans le mètre de Narsay, dit en mémoire de l’élu, célèbre pour sa force, humble, juste, droit et glorieux Rabban Hôrmîzd le Perse… Être caché, digne d’être loué par les créatures, nature adorée, inconnue de tous, sans commencement…” 1

“Du Khouzistan a jailli cette source des mystères et de Beyt Lapat a paru la fontaine des choses spirituelles; de l’Orient a brillé la lampe de justice, notre vénérable Père Rabban Hôrmîzd, comblé de grâce.” 1

“Son corps sanctifié fut transporté solennellement par ses fils et les prêtres et fut déposé dans son monastère très noblement. Parce que notre vénérable Père a été exalté comme Abel et qu’il a plu à son créateur par sa vertu c’est-à-dire comme Hénoch, j’ai arrangé un tout petit peu de ses divers triomphes et j’ai balbutié dans mon bégaiement la gloire de ses qualités en forme d’éloge… Il est manifeste pour lui combien tu as combattu dans les peines que tu as supportées; il te rétribuera dans la chambre nuptiale de ses biens comme tu l’as servi. Par tes prières, que notre Seigneur accorde la paix au monde; par tes prières qu’il sème en lui la prospérité tranquille...
