̣ܐܡܿܪ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܣܒܐ ܚܕ: ܕܐܝܬ ܗܘ̣ܐ ܙܢܝܬܐ ܚܕܐ: ܕܗܟܢܐ ܫܦܝܪܐ ܗܘ̣ܬ ܘܥܬܝܪܐ: ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܪ̈ܫܢܐ ܢܨܘܒܘܢ ܠܘܬܗܿ.
Un vieillard disait: «Il y avait une courtisane qui était si belle et si riche que les princes se retrouvaient chez elle.
ܘܥܠܬ ܠܥܕܬܐ ܟܕ ܒܟܝܐ ܘܐܡܿܪܐ: ܕܐܢ ܗܪܟܐ ܗܟܢܐ ܗܘܢܝ: ܬܡܢ ܡܢܐ ܐܥܒܕ. ܘܬܒܬ ܘܗܘܬ ܡܐܢܐ ܓܒܝܐ.
Et elle entra dans l’église en pleurant et en disant: «S’il m’est advenu ainsi ici-bas, que ferai-je là-haut?». Et elle se repentit et devint un instrument de choix.
