ܛܘܒܢܐ ܕܝܢ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܪ ܙܒܕܝ ܟܕ ܢܦܩܘ ܗܘܘ ܫܠܝܚ̈ܐ ܡܢ ܐܘܪܫܠܡ ܘܦܪܫܘ ܚܕ ܡܢ ܚܕ ܒܦܓܪ ܟܕ ܡܠܐ ܟܠ ܚܕ ܚܕ ܡܢܗܘܢ ܪܘܚܩܘܕܫܐ ܗܘ ܕܝܢ ܡܪܝ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܚܒܝܒ ܠܡܪܗ ܘܪܫܡ ܦܪܨܘܦܗ ܕܢܐܙܠ ܠܐܦܣܘܣ.
Le bienheureux Jean, fils de Zébédée, quand les Apôtres furent sortis de Jérusalem et qu’ils se furent physiquement séparés les uns des autres, chacun d’eux étant rempli de l’Esprit Saint, Mâr Jean donc, l’ami du Seigneur, décida d’aller à Éphèse.
ܘܟܕ ܗܘܐ ܩܕܝܫܐ ܡܪܝ ܝܘܚܢܢ ܒܪ ܡܐܐ ܘܥܣܪܝܢ ܫܢܝ̈ܢ ܐܬܬܢܝܚ ܒܡܛܠܝܬܐ ܗܿܝ. ܘܩܒܪܗ ܡܪܗ ܒܗܿ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܐܬܥܦܝ ܡܘܫܐ ܒܛܘܪܐ ܕܢܒܘ. ܕܨܠܘ̈ܬܗ... ܐܡܝܢ.
Et quand sain Mâr Jean fut âgé de cent-vingt ans, il mourut dans cet atelier. Et son Seigneur l’enterra à cet endroit comme Moïse fut enseveli au mont Nébo. Que ses prières… Amen.
