“ܫܰܬܐܣܶܗ ܦܰܛܪܝܰܪܟܐ ܝܘܚܰܢܢ ܫܒܝܥܳܝܳܐ ܒܰܐܬܪ̈ܘܬܳܐ ܕܡܝܠܝܺܛܝܢܝ ܫܢܰܬ 969 ܘܒܶܗ ܥܡܰܪ ܘܰܥܢܰܕ. ܘܕܰܝܪܳܐ ܗܘܳܐ ܪܰܒܐ ܛܰܝܶܒ ܚܰܕ ܦܰܛܪܝܰܪܟܐ ܘܚܰܕ ܡܰܦܪܝܳܢܐ ܘܚܰܕ ܡܺܝܛܪܘܦܘܠܝܛܳܐ ܘܰܬܡܳܢܰܥܣܪ ܐܶܦܝܣܩܘܦ̈ܐ ܘܠܐ ܚܙܰܝܢܰܢ ܠܗ ܥܘܗܕܳܢܐ ܒܳܬܰܪ ܫܢܰܬ 1343” 2
“انشأه البطريرك يوحنا السابع في ديار ملطية عام 969 وفيه اقام وتوفي. وكان ديراً فخماً انجب بطرياركاً و مفرياناً وثمانية عشر اسقفاً ومطراناً؛ ولم نقف له على ذكر بعد سنة 1243” 3
“was built in the province of Melitene in 969 by the Patriarch John VII, who lived and died there. A magnificent monastery, it produced one Patriarch, one Maphryono and eighteen bishops and metropolitans. We find no mention of it after 1213.” 4
