“ܘܡܶܬܶܐܡܪ ܠܗ ܦܓܝܺܡܬܐ ܠܘܳܬ ܡܕܝܢܰܬ ܪܝܫ ܥܰܝܢܳܐ ܒܰܓܙܝܪܬܳܐ. ܐܶܫܬܬܰܐܣ ܒܡܰܐܬܐ ܚܡܝܫܳܝܬܐ ܘܐܰܦܶܩ ܬܪܶܝܢ ܦܰܛܪܝܰܪ̈ܟܐ. 11 ܐܶܦܝܣܩܘܦ̈ܐ ܘܰܚܪܰܒ ܩܕܳܡ ܫܢܰܬ 1203 ܒܩܰܠܝܠ.” 2
“ويقال له فغيمتا عند مدينة رأس عين في الجزيرة انشى في المئة الخامسة وانجب بطريركين واحد عشر اسقفاً، وخرب قبيل سنة 1203” 3
“also called Fghimta: near Rish ʿAyna in the Jazira. It was built in the fifth century, but was reduced to ruins shortly before 1203. It produced two Patriarchs and eleven bishops.” 4
Notes
In Dolabani's translation of Barsoum's description “ܘܐܰܦܶܩ” should read “ܘܰܐܦܶܩ” and
“ܒܰܓܙܝܪܬܳܐ” should read “ܒܓܳܙܪܬܳܐ” .
In Barsoum's description “انشىء” should read “انشئ” .
