"Monk and missionary."1 In hagiography: John of Daylam was a monk from the region of Ḥadita who converted many pagans and even travelled to Damascus and Jerusalem, where he met Caliph ʿAbd Al- Malik. He built a monastery for Persian monks in the region of ʿArragan.Status: draft
