                        Xenophon was a noble husband and father living in Constantinople. This Byzantine Greek tradition was imported into the Syriac world.  His wife Mary and sons John and Arcadius are also venerated for their holiness.  Xenophon and Mary lived as a continent married couple and instructed their sons to support the poor and the monks.
